We
installed a heater in my shop so that I could use epoxy in the cold
winter months to come. the epoxy needs to be warm in order to cure
in under a year. |

Here
is the boat I made in High School. It's a 14 foot round bottom boat.
Students can take an elective where everyone makes their own to keep.
They don't use the excellent quality materials that you find in CLC
kits however. |

Gluing
the precut scarf joints together with epoxy. We used weights(lead
blocks, bags of lead shot, other heavy items) and staples to hold
them in place. |

When
done with epoxy brush and/or cup, don't throw it away! Leave it on
your work bench and the next day, check to see if it is hard. If it's
not, you know you're in trouble. |

A
handy little block my grandfather thought up. Sheer clamps(nailing
strips) are glued 1/4 " higher than the edge of the side panel.
This lets you get it lined up quick and easy. |

The
block again, see how much easier this is than using a ruler? |

Squeezing
the sheer clamp to see if a clamp is needed. If epoxy oozes out with
a squeeze, another clamp is needed. |

The
instructions say you can do this project with 15 clamps. They put
the two panels back to back, but we liked doing it this way so the
two panels didn't get glued together. |
